one way the news paper is funded is by voluntary donations this help them by showing that people still read what they are publishing another way they make money is by adding links to there websites to advertise the other websites 

target audience- The observer

there are many disadvantages to the online version of news. one advantage to it is that you get it live and can interact with it while it is happening.

Media language online.
L/o: to investigate how online newspapers use media language to create meaning.

The masthead of the Observer uses serif as its font and uses upper and lower case letters this creates a formal and fancy effect in the reader the use of the font could also show a state of seriousness and that it is not going to be joking around with people and the fancy side of it makes its self stand out to a higher class of people.


The advantages of print news paper is that they will be getting money from people that go out and buy there newspaper but the disadvantages is that now a days people have phones and can easily find news on there

historical case studies 
use O-reflects the masthead the masthead - font and colour. palette uses opposite colours from print in the logo/ profile and also in the mast head. social media - twitter - completely different to the front page of the print version . colour are present but not as much print connotes modern news.

The observer cover from the 1960s reflects racism in these times with the use of the word "negro" to discriminate those of different ethnicity example of this is when a black woman marrying a white man who was royalty this clearly indicates it happen that much in the 1960s  

Tuesday 21st march 2023

news papers in the 1960s reflects society as women not having enough power this was proven by lawyers to be able to get women to divorce by consent this was because if a woman wanted a divorce the would have to wait for the man to decide.
